Our previous sailboat was a 44' sloop rigged with 650 watts of solar (3 panels) monitored by an OutBack FM60, a wind generator (a brand that came with the boat and won't ever be put on another vessel again), a 30 gallon/hour Cruise R/O watermaker, SCAD tank monitors, Xantrex Link Pro battery monitor, MISEA navigation lights and trianchor, Balmar 110A alternator with ARS-5 regulator, and many more features.
Our 1980 Krogen, Seascape, was acquired about 2 years ago after ditching the 7' draft when we discovered we also enjoy exploring the ICW and all the nooks and crannies of the shorelines. She allows us to travel offshore and inland easily, burning very low amounts of fuel (for a powerboat) - 1.8 gallons/hr. We have been very busy replacing her decks, painting and all other forms of harsh punishment of buying a 30-something year old boat. We have already installed some new MISEA LED navigation lights, will be fitting as many solar panels as possible up on the upper deck, installing a D400, and getting this beast ready for full-time cruising again.
We started this business to help fill that cruising kitty and it has continued to grow. As you can tell, many of the items we sell in our store we've installed on our boats - they're tried and true with us. Nothing we sell we haven't tried before or wouldn't put on our boat. As always, we can consult and answer any questions you might have about your energy needs aboard.
